Thanks for thinking of me as a sponsor of your boycott. Like you, I want our children to grow up in a moral society.

저를 당신이 하는 거부 운동의 후원자로서 생각해 주신 데 감사드립니다. 당신처럼, 저는 우리 아이들이 도덕적인 사회에서 성장하기를 원합니다. 

 

But I am afraid I can’t give you permission to use my name as a support for Parents for Library Censorship. 

하지만 저는 ‘도서관 검열을 위한 학부모 모임’에 대한 지지자로서 제 이름을 사용하는 것을 허락할 수 없을 것 같습니다. 

 

The fact is, you and I are on different sides of this issue - namely, I am for freedom of speech and against censorship in any form.

While I agree with you that some of the books on the list are of questionable quality and taste, I also feel just as strongly that no one person or organization has the right to determine what is ‘suitable’ literature for other people.

I spoke out very strongly against library censorship at a recent parent-teachers meeting and I will do likewise when I have the opportunity.

My brother, Daniel Jones, recommended your company as one that would do a good job of building our exhibition booths, but we have seen virtually no progress on the project during recent weeks.

Our conference is scheduled for March 3. 

우리 학회는 3월 3일로 예정되어 있습니다. 

 

With our advance payment, you agreed to have the work completed one week prior to the opening (contract copy enclosed). 

선불 조건으로 귀하는 개막식 1주일 전에 작업을 끝내기로 동의하였습니다(계약서 사본 동봉). 

 

I question whether you will be able to meet the terms of the contract, and I am very concerned about being ready for the conference. 

저는 귀하가 계약 조건을 충족시킬 수 있는지 의문이 들고, 학회 준비가 될 수 있는지에 대해 매우 걱정이 됩니다. 

 

Please call me, and follow up in writing, about how you intend to complete the work on time. 

어떻게 제시간에 이 작업을 완성할 계획인지에 대해 통화 부탁드리고 답장도 보내 주세요. 

 

If it appears that you will default on this contract, we will take immediate measure to protect ourselves.

I have greatly enjoyed my work as a literacy volunteer at your center for the past three years.

I am getting married this spring, and with the arrangement for that, my full-time job at the hospital, and plans for graduate school, I am overwhelmed. 

저는 올봄에 결혼할 예정이며 결혼 준비, 저의 본업인 병원 근무, 대학원 진학 계획들로 압도되어 있습니다. 

 

When my life returns to normal, I would love to come back. Thank you for giving me the chance to contribute.
